Working field:
The candidate is to represent the aforementioned fields in research and teaching in civil engineering and in other BTU degree programmes. Lectures are to be held in German and English in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs of the BTU.
An active participation in preferably interdisciplinary, experimental research is expected. For this purpose, a concrete testing lab, the laboratory facilities of the department (chemical and physical analysis) and the faculty owned research and materials testing institute (FMPA) are available.
Scientific contributions to realize the structural change in Lusatia and to the associated transformation processes are expressly desired.
Participation in the academic self-administration and in the profiling of the faculty is required.
Other duties result from the requirements set by § 42 Brandenburgisches Hochschulgesetz (Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg - BbgHG) in conjunction with § 3 BbgHG.
Requirements:
The professorship is located at the Institute of Civil Engineering. We are looking for a nationally and internationally renowned candidate with experience in the fields of materials and chemistry used in civil engineering applications as a civil engineer or in a closely related natural science discipline, proven by research and teaching. Practical experience is desirable. As the candidate is supposed to take over courses for first-year students, special pedagogical skills are desired.
Experience in the application and development of innovative and conventional construction materials (concrete technology including concrete renovation, metals, wood-based materials and other sustainable building materials) is desirable for networking with the other departments of the faculty with regard to material-independent research.
Experience in the acquisition and realisation of third-party funded projects is expected. Fields of research should be relevant for the DFG (German Research Foundation) or similar international research funding organisations.
