We are interested in students from rigorous academic courses who are have course requirements for professional experience, and those interested in real-world learning to support their studies.
Internship Pre-requisites
- Current enrolment as a fulltime student in an accredited architecture degree program
- Successful application through submission of an architectural portfolio & relevant university documentation.
What we offer:
Fearon Hay offer an engaging learning opportunity, we provide experience in a broad range of projects and students are exposed to all aspects of design from conceptual work to documentation. Students work closely with Directors and Architectural Teams.
We look for students with inquisitive minds who desire to extend themselves. Our interns learn quickly, are willing to take the initiative, are experienced in a range of design programmes and methodologies, and thrive on collaboration.
Typical tasks:
- Assist architectural teams with filing & pinning up of project work on the design wall
- Assist teams with project work including design, conceptual presentations and documentation
- Assist with marketing collateral
- Participate in design meetings
- Participate in office and project planning meetings
- General studio assistance
Fearon Hay undertakes to:
- Enable the intern to develop their architectural experience in a professional setting
- Ensure the intern is informed of the requirements of their internship
- Guide the intern through relevant office and project processes to which they are expected to contribute
- Provide the intern with adequate explanation of projects, compliance
requirements, deliverables and tasks - Provide the intern with adequate time and resources to complete tasks
- Ensure that the intern is always supported by a team or project lead
- Treat the intern at all times with respect and communicate in a considerate and professional manner.
