The Department of Building Archaeology and Built Heritage Conservation is looking for a highly motivated candidate to join our team in teaching and research. We offer an interdisciplinary environment with international contacts and practical teaching and research projects in Germany and abroad. For more information, see: https://www.tu.berlin/hbd
Your tasks:
– Participation in teaching, supervision of courses as well as student research projects and theses, primarily in the Master´s programme Building Archaeology and Heritage Conservation (4 SWS)
– Collaboration in research projects, in the organisation of conferences, lecture series, and publications of the department
– Working on own doctoral thesis
– Participation in the organisation of the department
– Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Building Archaeology and Heritage Conservation, in Architecture with a focus in Building Archaeology and Heritage Conservation, or a comparable specialisation, excellent degree
– Very good knowledge of the content and methods of Building Archaeology and Heritage Conservation, in particular digital and manual building survey methods
At least one of the following qualifications:
– The ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the missing language skills.
– Confident use of relevant IT applications (MS Office, AutoCAD and graphics editing programmes, web-based applications)
Desirable qualifications:
– Organisational skills, ability to work in a team and particular enjoy working with students
– High motivation, commitment, independence and a strong sense of responsibility
– Readiness in personal development in relation to new methods in building survey and heritage conservation, especially digital technologies
Thematic focus of the dissertation project in one of the following areas:
– Historical building constructions
– Building archaeology in a Period from the Middle Ages to the 20th century
