Your responsibility:

Conducting research and teaching at the Chair of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering

Particular tasks are:

  • Development of scientific methods in the field of circular processes in geotechnical engineering
  • Development, implementation and application of reliability-based calculations for existing foundation bodies
  • Project communication and preparation of project reports
  • Documentation of the research, preparation of project reports, presentation and publication of the research results in
    scientific journals and conference proceedings
  • Indepentend planning, preparation and conduction of courses and examinations in the Bachelor's and Master's programs in Civil Engineering, language of instruction german
  • Supervision of Bachelor's and Master's theses

Your profile:

  • Successfully completed academic university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in civil engineering
  • In-depth knowledge of geotechnical engineering, circular economy and probabilistic methods. The willingness to acquire missing knowledge is a prerequisite.
  • Comprehensive IT skills in MS Office and profound knowledge of programming languages such as Python and Matlab are required.
  • The ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills.
  • Experience in research (preparation of research proposals, project coordination and realization) and teaching as well as very good presentation skills are desirable.
  • Capacity for teamwork and high level of commitment are desirable.
