Im Her­zen der Lau­sitz ver­bin­det die BTU her­aus­ra­gende inter­na­tio­nale For­schung mit zukunfts­ori­en­tier­ter Lehre. Sie leis­tet mit Wis­sens-, Tech­no­lo­gie­trans­fer und Wei­ter­bil­dung einen wich­ti­gen Bei­trag für Gesell­schaft, Kul­tur und Wirt­schaft. Als Tech­ni­sche Uni­ver­si­tät bie­tet die BTU ein bun­des­weit ein­zig­ar­ti­ges Lehr­kon­zept: Bei uns kön­nen Stu­di­en­gänge uni­ver­si­tär, fach­hoch­schu­lisch und dual stu­diert wer­den.

PRO­FESS­OR­SHIP Engin­eer­ing Mech­an­ics and Numer­ical Meth­ods (W2)

Working field:

The pos­i­tion hol­der is expec­ted to rep­res­ent the above areas in rese­arch and teach­ing in civil engin­eer­ing and other study pro­gram­mes at BTU. Lec­tures are to be held in Ger­man and Eng­lish, flu­ency in both lan­guages is expec­ted.

A spe­cial focus is pla­ced on innov­at­ive rese­arch top­ics in the field of numer­ical meth­ods. Act­ive par­ti­cip­a­tion in inter­dis­cip­lin­ary rese­arch activ­it­ies is desi­red. Exper­i­men­tal rese­arch is pos­sible in the labor­at­or­ies of the fac­ulty and in inter­fac­ulty labor­at­ory facil­it­ies.
The pro­fes­sio­nal par­ti­cip­a­tion in the shap­ing of the struc­tural change in Lusa­tia and the sci­ent­i­fic accom­pani­ment of the asso­ci­ated trans­form­a­tion pro­ces­ses are expli­citly desi­red.

The will­ing­ness to par­ti­cip­ate in the aca­demic self-man­age­ment and in the pro­mo­tion of the fac­ulty is requi­red.

Other duties res­ult from the require­ments set by § 42 Bran­den­bur­gisches Hoch­schul­ge­setz (Hig­her Edu­ca­tion Act of the State of Bran­den­burg - BbgHG) in con­junc­tion with § 3 BbgHG.


The pro­fess­or­ship is a part of the Insti­tute of Civil Engin­eer­ing. We are look­ing for a nation­ally and inter­na­tion­ally recog­nized per­son with out­stand­ing pub­lic­a­tions in the field of numer­ical solid and struc­tural mech­an­ics, who can demon­strate spe­cial didac­tic skills and exper­i­ence in teach­ing in the field of engin­eer­ing mech­an­ics and the finite ele­ment method. Fur­ther­more, exper­i­ence in prac­tical mod­el­ing, in the use of aca­demic or com­mer­cial sim­u­la­tion soft­ware or other rel­ev­ant pro­fes­sio­nal exper­i­ence is expec­ted.

Exper­i­ence in the acquis­i­tion and real­isa­tion of third-party foun­ded pro­jects is expec­ted. The rese­arch top­ics should be rel­ev­ant for the DFG (Ger­man Rese­arch Found­a­tion) or com­par­able inter­na­tio­nal rese­arch fund­ing insti­tu­tions.
