Internship Program for Master Students in Architecture

Architectural Design & Project Management, construction Engineers

Working field:

Interns will contribute to site analyses, feasibility studies, conceptual design, and collaborative project work, gaining hands-on experience in sustainable architecture, urban development, and historical preservation alongside experienced mentors.

  • Support in design development and execution drawings (2D/3D)
  • Assist in preparing architectural plans, visualizations, and models
  • Conduct site analyses and feasibility studies related to the project specified in architecture/construction/sustainability
  • Assess sustainability aspects, including energy efficiency, CO2/environmental impact, and resource-efficient construction methods
  • Analyze project sites with regard to urban planning, architectural, environmental, and contextual factors.
  • Collaborate with the project team to translate analysis findings into initial design concepts and decision-making materials
  • Participate in project coordination meetings with engineers and planners
    Support project and tender documentation.
  • Research materials, sustainable design methods, and building technologies
    Construction Budget follow up

Requirements:

Specify the academic background and skills you expect.

  1. Currently enrolled in a Master program in Architecture/ Construction Engineering (or equivalent)
  2. Solid knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, or similar 3D software
  3. Good understanding of construction methods and sustainable design principles or new CO2 zero materials
  4. Strong conceptual and design skills - Experience with visualization and graphic tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and rendering software (e.g., V-Ray, Enscape, Lumion)
  5. Good communication in English or German, Minimum proficiency level: C1
  6. Independent, motivated, and open to collaboration in an interdisciplinary team

Supervision & Mentoring
Company Supervisor: Alex Sprogis, Architect or Marco Lavit, Architect/Professor

Each intern is assigned a company mentor responsible for guidance, feedback, and progress evaluation. Regular check-ins and a final presentation are part of the program.

Compensation & Benefits

Monthly stipend: 650 € per month + lodging + travel costs
Workstation, software access, and on-site support provided
Possibility to align internship work with Master’s thesis
Certificate of completion and performance evaluation provided

  4. Technical drawings (plans, sections, elevations, details)
  5. 3D models and visualizations (renderings, physical models, digital models)
  6. Graphic representation skills (layouts, mapping, analysis diagrams)
  7. Sustainability-related work (energy concepts, material studies, environmental strategies), if available
    Any competition entries or research-based design work
